Non-surgical PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections can help to re-grow hair with little to no downtime. PRP therapy uses the patient’s own blood plasma to strengthen hair follicles. During treatment, blood is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge which separates the PRP from the rest of the blood. The PRP is then injected into the scalp using a small needle. The PRP stimulates stem cells in the hair follicle, accelerating regeneration, resulting in hair growth. Following treatment, patients may experience mild redness or discomfort at the treatment site, though this should resolve on its own within a day. There is generally no downtime required, so patients can feel free to return to everyday activities as soon as they feel comfortable. Most patients need a series of 3-6 treatments to achieve optimal results.
